BNSF’s Seattle Branch is one of the busiest rail lines in the Pacific Northwest. BNSF and UP operate a variety of unit trains in addition to intermodal, mixed freight, and many local trains. In addition to freight traffic, the subdivision is home to 10 Amtrak trains: 4 Cascades in each direction, plus the Coast Starlight northbound and southbound.
